Many children of the golden era, or what we would call the old times day, has had to eat and drink porridge for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as it was the one great meal apart from all the others, that the old folks, who shall be called the forever young ones, has grown up feeding their children to make them strong and able to concentrate more, as they always use to say that porridge is the one breakfast, we should not go without, whether it oats, cornmeal or other kinds of porridge.
I want to share with you, one of the porridge which I had as a child, that is Cornmeal Porridge. Oh how I missed my grandfather Recce right now.
5 tbsp. cornmeal
3 tbsp. powdered milk
1/2 tsp. nutmeg, grated
1 piece of Spice and cinnamon stick
2 tbsp. sugar
Add the cornmeal and the three (3) cups of water. Heat on a very low flame the spice, cinnamon, grated nutmeg, cornmeal, and two cups of water. Allow to cook until the mixture is slightly thick then remove from heat. Mix together the powdered milk and the hot water. Add it to the cooked cornmeal. Mix well. I love my porridge sweet, so I would add sugar or condense milk.
