Everyone loves chow, whether it is chow mango, plum, cherry, apple, pineapple, grapes and other types of fruits, everyone has tried their hands at making chow, more than three times in their life, so it is not new to many, but here is one that everyone would enjoy and that is five finger chow.
8 five fingers or starfruit
6 large cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 large glass of lime juice
6 blades of shadon beni
1/2 tsp brown sugar
1 hot pepper (scotch bonnet), seeded and chopped
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Cut the five fingers (starfruit) into thin slices and place in a large bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Let rest for approximately 1/2 hour to 1 hour in refrigerator if desired to allow the flavours to blend and the salt to draw liquid from the fruit. Taste and adjust seasoning and add a bit of pepper sauce if necessary.
