Homemade Bread

Oh, how I miss my grandma’s hands. She would bake the best quick and easy homemade bread that melts in your mouth, because she would let it be soft on the inside and hard on the outside, so I would cut off the skin of the bread and eat the inside. Oh, how I miss those days.

4 cups of flour
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoon butter
1 pack instant yeast
1 teaspoon salt

Put all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix them together. Gradually add 1 1/2 luke warm water and mix into the ingredients. After all the water has been added, use your hands to knead the flour. Check out this cool video that I found that shows you how to hand knead your dough. After the dough is well kneaded, leave it in your mixing bowl and allow to rise (that is the yeast doing its work). After the dough is risen, separate it into three balls and let them ‘rest’ for a further 20 minutes.

The next thing that you do is to shape the balls in to bread shape. But before you shape the balls, grease the bread baking pans with some butter or you can use some pan spray.

After the dough has well risen in the bread baking pans, set your oven to 350 degrees. When it is nice and hot, place your uncooked bread in the oven. Let the bread bake for about 35 minutes. They should be nice and golden brown when ready.

Please note that making homemade bread is quite time consuming, so I would suggest that it done on weekends, if you work during the week.
