Tobago – Culinary Festival Calendar of Events for October 2015

Tobago is a island in the Caribbean that still retains much of its rural charms, even the residents in the more rural and urban areas are known to give that warm smile and stop for a chat, lend a hand to an absolute stranger and it is an island of culture and festivals. If you are an overseas visitor planning a vacation or holiday where you want to immerse yourself in the culture and lifestyle of Tobago, there are countless opportunities on the islands’ diverse cultural calendar around which you can plan your trip.

Even thou it is the 01st October 2015, you can still plan a trip and come and partake in the islands culinary events for October 2015, such as:

From Cap’n to Cook (TOBAGO) – Sunday 11th October 2015 from 10:00 a.m. – till An early Amerindian settlement, come and visit the pristine beaches as the fisher folk and villagers join in taking us from the sea to the pot. ‘From Captain to Cook.(Castara Bay, Castara, Tobago).

World Food Day (TOBAGO) – Friday 16th October 2015 Tobago’s annual World Food Day exhibition is a sight to behold with villages island-wide displaying prized produce alongside dishes made from local staple foods like dasheen and cassava. Live stock, poultry and fish products are also on display. Prepared food, fruits, vegetables and plants are available for purchase and live entertainers perform on both evenings of the two-day exhibition.

BLUE FOOD FESTIVAL (TOBAGO) – Sunday, 18th October 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Celebrate Tobago’s unique blue food cuisine at the Blue Food Festival in Bloody Bay! Guests are treated to cooking demonstrations and competitions, samples of local chefs’ creations, and entertainment by popular local performers!  (Sponsor/Organizer – THA Division of Tourism and Transportation)  Free Admission

Goodwood – The Festival of the Yam (TOBAGO) – Saturday 31st October 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The African tradition of the Yam Festival is a reminder of the creativity of the people as we create various dishes from the yam and perform the rituals of the festival. (To be held on the Goodwood Community Centre, Goodwood, Tobago).
